Example Piston Behavior Measurement Piston Ring Displacement Measurement
Installation Diagram
Purpose of Measurement Sensors are attached to the piston skirt, and the gap between it and the cylinder bore surface is measured to evaluate piston behavior (slap phenomenon). A sensor is attached to the piston land (in ring groove), and the behavior of the piston ring (vertical movement) is measured.
Specifications Operating Temperature: Max 180°C

Measuring Range: 0 to 200mm (Linear measuring range of embedded sensors)

*These are reference specifications.  If your operating conditions require different specifications, contact AEC.  We may have the sensor you need or would be pleased to manufacture a sensor to meet your requirements.
